Tuttavia esiste anche il Premio Ig Nobel, assegnato ogni anno dall’associazione Improbable Research di Harvard alle ricerche più strane, divertenti e assurde. Ricerche che prima fanno ridere e poi fanno riflettere. Luca Perri, laureato in Astrofisica all’Università Milano-Bicocca e dottorando in Fisica e Astrofisica presso l’Osservatorio Astronomico INAF di Brera e l’Università Insubria, spiega perché è importante credere nella ricerca anche quando sembra inutile.
Every year, on 10 December, the King of Sweden bestows the most prestigious award, the Nobel Prize. However, there is also the Ig Nobel Prize, which, every year, is awarded by Harvard’s Improbable Research Association to the strangest, most entertaining and absurd research studies. These studies first make us laugh, and then make us reflect. Luca Perri, who graduated in Astrophysics at Milan’s Bicocca University, and who is currently pursuing a doctorate in Physics and Astrophysics at the INAF Brera Astronomical Observatory, and the University of Insubria, explains why it is important to believe in research, even when it seems useless.
